What size goalkeeper gloves do I need?
To determine which goalkeeper glove size you or your child requires, you will need a tape measure or a ruler. Measure from the base of the palm to the tip of the middle finger. To be extra sure you have the correct size, you can also measure the palm width including the thumb, and the overall palm length. See our goalkeeper glove size guide for specific instructions on how to find the right size.
What different types of goalkeeper gloves are there?
Goalkeeper gloves are typically categorized by their cut. For example, the FORZA Sicuro gloves use a roll cut. Roll cut gloves feature latex that wraps around the fingers for a larger contact area with the ball. The FORZA NGE gloves feature a negative cut, where the seams are stitched inside the glove. This provides a tighter, more streamlined fit. The FORZA HYB gloves use a hybrid cut that combines elements of different cuts across the fingers, offering a balance of a large surface area palm with the control and dexterity of a negative cut.
How do I maximize the lifespan of my goalkeeper gloves?
Focus on maintaining your gloves correctly by storing them in a cool, breathable place. If you leave them in a closed kit bag or in a car, they are likely to degrade much sooner. Clean and dry the gloves in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. This will usually involve hand washing with a very mild soap when they start to smell or pick up dirt and mud. Most gloves cannot be machine dried. Instead, hang them out to dry away from direct sunlight.
What materials are soccer goalkeeper gloves made from?
Soccer goalkeeper gloves are usually made from a combination of materials, including latex on the palm for grip. There is typically some form of foam or padding on the back of the gloves for protection. Other materials used will depend largely on the design and model of the glove. For example, the FORZA HYB Goalkeeper Gloves feature a 4mm Quartz latex palm for superior grip, a 3mm neoprene backhand that provides cushioning and helps reduce errors when punching, and 4mm rubber injects on the backhand for added durability and ball contact.
