Start with the size of your garden and the age of the players who will use it. If space is limited, or you'd like to use your garden for other things in the evenings, a pop up or ProFlex goal is a great choice as they fold away in seconds. Think about how often the goal will be used and by whom, as this will help determine whether a lightweight uPVC goal, a heavy duty steel goal or a premium aluminium goal is the best fit. If you or your child is a budding rugby player, our combination multi goals are also a great option. Finally, consider your budget. Aluminium is widely considered the best material for football goals, including garden goals. The choice of the elite, smaller aluminium goals are used by professional teams in training, and our POD and smaller Alu60 goals are also great for back gardens. However, uPVC goals are arguably the best choice for children. Portable, lightweight and affordable, in the rare event that a goal falls or someone collides with the frame, injury is unlikely. Galvanised steel goals are heavy duty, sturdy and generally more affordable than aluminium. Extremely durable, they look great and offer a solid option for anyone who wants a metal goal.

The right size depends largely on the space you have available and the age of your children. Our most popular sizes include the 6 x 4 and 8 x 4 goals for younger children, while older kids tend to prefer the 8 x 6 or 12 x 4. Whatever goal size you choose, you can add a target sheet for shooting practice or combine with a rebounder for varied back garden sessions. 12 x 6 is generally the biggest goal people will consider for their garden. If you have a smaller garden, a pop up or ProFlex goal might be a good option, as you can quickly set it up and pack it away after use.

FORZA PVC, aluminium and steel goals are designed to be left outdoors. We recommend anchoring them with U peg ground anchors for safety, especially in windy conditions. If exceptionally severe weather conditions are forecast, it may be worth packing your goal away or positioning it in a more sheltered location. ProFlex, POD and pop up goals are best folded down and stored away when not in use, as they're designed for portability and may begin to degrade slightly if left out in prolonged rain, snow or frost for days on end.
