1.2M X 0.8M SOCCER GOALS FAQs

What is a 1.2m x 0.8m soccer goal used for?
1.2m x 0.8m soccer goals can be used for a range of training games and drills/exercises. A great size for 3v3 games for players of all ages, with no goalkeepers, players still need to shoot with accuracy. They can also be used for shooting and passing accuracy practice. These goals are very much on the smaller side of our goal range, but they are big enough to feel like a proper goal to a young player, and small enough to fit in most gardens and backyards.
What age is a 1.2m x 0.8m soccer goal suitable for?
These goals are suited to kids aged approximately 3 years old to around 8 years old. Children this old will enjoy using the goals for garden games and small sided 3v3 drills in practice sessions. They can be used by players of all ages however. For example, some of our mini goals are used by Premier League teams including Manchester United during training sessions - as targets for accuracy practice, or for small-sided games with no goalkeepers.
Are 1.2m x 0.8m soccer goals suitable for MiniRoos training?
Yes, 1.2m x 0.8m soccer goals are well suited to the MiniRoos U5, U6 and U7 age groups, which play 4v4 games with no goalkeeper. Smaller goals work well in goalkeeper-less formats, as it is small enough to reward accuracy and precision. The size also works well for MiniRoos training drills at older age groups, and for informal backyard small-sided play.
Which 1.2m x 0.8m soccer goal should I buy - pop-up, PVC or aluminium?
Pop-up 1.2m x 0.8m goals like the FORZA FLASH and ProFlex are the easiest choice for temporary set ups. They fold flat, weigh very little and pack away when not in use. PVC goals sit in the middle - sturdier than pop-up, lighter than aluminium, and the bestselling backyard option. Aluminium POD goals like the FORZA POD Lite ALU40 and POD Pro ALU50 are the strongest option, built for clubs, schools and people wanting pro-quality. For a garden, choose pop-up or PVC. For a serious or professional training environment, aluminium is the ideal option.
How do you anchor a 1.2m x 0.8m soccer goal for outdoor use?
Anchoring depends on the goal type. Pop-up 1.2m x 0.8m goals are light enough to stay put during casual play and can be pegged with pegs on windy days. Aluminium POD goals are heavier and have a wider footprint, but should still be anchored during active play to prevent them toppling over if pushed/pulled etc. Secure the goal either with the ground pegs supplied or by adding FORZA sandbags to the base bars. Never allow a child to hang, swing or climb on the crossbar of any soccer goal, whether it is anchored or not.
